Colovri
Another rocky islet at the southernmost point of the Paleokastritsa – Liapades area at a distance of about 900 meters from the opposite coast. The reef that extends around it presents a unique relief with significant marine life and is therefore a particularly popular destination for all kinds of fishing. However, abandoned ghost nets make their presence felt, especially when undersea currents lift them from the bottom.
Golden groupers in significant numbers, more rarely groupers, barracudas, scorpionfish, greater forkbeard and shrimps, salema, sardines, saddle breams and schools of small fish are commonly found here, as well as various species of nudibranchs. Over the years however, especially the bigger fish appear deeper and deeper. Here too, immediately after the period of successive lockdowns, a relative increase in their populations was observed, as well as the appearance of lionfish for the first time.
